ABOUT SPARTAK 78
Spartak 78 is a friendly, youth football club which is
based in Saffron Walden in Essex. It was set up in 1978
and Spartak have prided themselves on low-cost, good quality
football. Spartak runs teams from the under 7s to under
17s and curently has 13 teams with 300+ boys and girls
playing regular football. As a club our main object is
to give
the youth of Saffron Walden and surrounding area access
to the support of football and hopefully develop the children
into good footballers, young men and women . Spartak 78
have had players who have gone on to play for such teams
as Cambridge United, West Ham , Charlton, Ipswich Town
and a were picked to represent Essex on a tour of Demark
and we also have players at county level.
All our managers hold a certification in football, which
is the FA level 1, and have been passed through a CRB check.
They all hold a child protection certificate too. Behind
the scenes there is a team which deals with any day-to-day
running of the club and they are there if for example a
pitch needs marking out or a team needs refereeing. One
person of this team is the Child Protection Officer and
you can find out more about her on the appropriate web
page.
